Dr Roz Penfold
Roz's classes offer a sacred space of richness, with philosophical teachings that you can take away and incorporate in your daily life
Dr. Roz Penfold discovered the healing power of yoga in the mid-1990s while searching for a way to recover from severe velodrome racing injuries. What began as a personal path quickly blossomed into a lifelong dedication to mindful movement. She initially rooted her teaching in Power Yoga and Restorative Flow, thoughtfully weaving together breathwork, energy cultivation, and grounded movement. Over the years, her practice evolved. As a certified AcroYoga instructor, she explored the liberating elements of inversion training and partner yoga before shifting her focus toward intelligent, peak posture vinyasa.
Roz’s classes are deeply nourished by her expansive study of mindfulness and philosophy. Drawing from a rigorous 24-month Mindfulness Meditation Teacher Training led by Jack Kornfield and Tara Brach, she seamlessly blends modern mindfulness with traditional Vedic wisdom. This profound foundation allows her to offer guided meditation that enriches the physical practice, creating a truly holistic experience for her students.
Today, she guides practitioners through a diverse range of classes, including SOUL Flow/Temple, Burn, Uplevel, Align, Full Spectrum, and Yin. As a Specialist Sports and Exercise Physiotherapist, Roz brings an expert understanding of the human body to every session. She thoughtfully balances the physical demands of movement with your body's unique needs, always honouring the psychosocial and spiritual dimensions of well-being. Her teaching style reflects her own approach to life: a balance of powerful delivery and deep compassion.
A passionate advocate for human connection, Roz believes deeply in the magic of practicing together. Her dedication to community building grew from teaching intimate classes in her living room to founding Align Yoga, and eventually expanding into the welcoming sanctuary of SOULution Yoga. For Roz, the true essence of this work lies in sharing the profound potency of physical and spiritual practice, while encouraging you to take your yoga off the mat to foster meaningful, lasting connections with others.
