Dr Roz Penfold

Roz's classes offer a sacred space of richness, with philosophical teachings that you can take away and incorporate in your daily life

Dr Roz Penfold began her journey into yoga in the mid 1990’s with a search to overcome injuries suffered from numerous high speed velodrome crashes. After establishing a foundation in various yoga styles, she found a personal niche initially in teaching Power Yoga (acknowledging both Duncan Peak & Keenan Crisp as her initial teachers), then branching out to teach Restorative Flow (a combination of pranayama, energy cultivation and a grounded sequence of postures). A certified AcroYoga teacher, Roz has also taught elements of inversion training, partner yoga and flying. Strongly influenced in the mid-2010s by studying and then collaborating with Bonnie Argo, she started to steer more towards peak posture vinyasa teachings.

Currently she is studying a 24 month program in Mindfulness Meditation Teacher Training. This program spearheaded by Jack Kornfield and Tara Brach is certified by both the Awareness Training Institute and the Greater Good Science Center at the University of California at Berkeley.

She can be found across both studio locations, and in many online portal yoga and meditation classes. Within the studios she teaches SOUL Flow, Burn, Uplevel, Align, Full Spectrum and Yin. Roz also facilitates guided meditation (SOUL MED) classes, and more intensive 21 & 28 day asana and philosophy challenges, and longer meditation courses.

As a Specialist Sports Physiotherapist, Roz knows the importance of balancing demands on the body with its temporal needs and abilities whilst fully embracing the psychosocial, philosophical and spiritual dimensions. Roz's approach to life is readily evident in her teaching - a balance of powerful yet compassionate delivery in her classes. Her passion for community building is evident in her work to establish a home for yogi's in her first studio, Align Yoga, and now with her second studio in collaboration with Bonnie Argo at SOULution Yoga. The essence of her work in the yoga industry combines her ability for sharing the potency of the physical and spiritual practice of yoga mixed with taking yoga off your personal mat into collaboration and connection with others.
