Eagle Dreaming Yoga

  • SOULution Lakeside 5 Soundy Close Belconnen, ACT, 2617 Australia (map)

Saturday’s June 3rd, 10th and 17th

We are so excited to introduce you to Felicity McCallum and bring you a very special 3-class series!

These sessions come from a deep respect for the traditions and people at the heart of Australia and for the dharma of unifying community in modern dreaming/spiritual practice.

The wedged-tail eagle, a vital totem for First Australians in south-eastern Australia who oversees and protects, inspires this series. The sessions are a flow of ancient Australian lore and Indian yoga postures for enrichment and unifying; for students themselves and then for our peace-focused community together.

Eagle Dreaming classes build on yoga foundations for energising, there is sufficient pacing for listening and equanimous poise. They promote an energised, reconciled outlook moving forward in Life. The classes are a gentle, transformative and progressive s

The practice will intersect yoga from the Indian continent with Indigenous Australian wisdom, a link which has always been connected. It will affirm ancient circles of wisdom for a calm, centred embodied way of being in Australia today.

About Felicity McCallum
Felicity began practicing yoga in 1996 in the quiet community halls of the coalfields where visiting yogis from Wollombi held much-loved weekly classes. Felicity is a woman of Awaba, a traditional owner & Elder of the Awabakal region NSW - also known as Newcastle, Lake Macquarie & the lower Hunter.

As a teacher and counsellor in schools for two decades, both in Australia and France, Felicity drew on indigenous Australian & eastern spiritual practices to support breath, calm and full participation of those in her care. This enriched a natural, holistic environment and progress through gentleness and respect.

In 2008, she completed Power Living Yoga teacher training, has led & taught school-based yoga programs for young people when on-country, and in Newcastle.

Felicity has completed PhD studies focusing on Indigenous & non-Indigenous contact in early contact on Awabakal country Australia and is dedicated to Reconciliation as a way of understanding what it means to be living authentically in our times.
